Photo Recoloring

From the pink rose at the left, I created he blue rose image below. I enjoyed creating this emblematic image of what I can do, creating a natural looking object that does not exist in nature.

After cutting out the background and rotating the image, I masked out the center, then added various semi-transparent layers with different color shifts and painterly effects. I wanted to emphasise a dimensionality of the new color - ranging from turquoise to lavender - in the the veins and folds of each petal without flattening its texture.
